Pixel art is a form of digital art where the illustration is created at the pixel level in a raster based program; I prefer to use the practically archaic Microsoft Paint.

I became interested in this medium several years ago for a number of reasons. I love quality of image I can achieve by using single pixels to create an entire form that could have several hundreds or even thousands of pixels when completed. I also find that I am able to achieve a zen-like state when working with pixels; all of my energy goes into envisioning how the completed piece will look. Lastly, I simply enjoy working in pixels; it is a fun medium to work with. Be sure to click on each thumbnail to view them full size!
