11×14 Burke & James Camera
Thursday, November 26, 2009 at 6:03PM Well, I finally got my new, old 11×14 ULF (Ultra Large Format) camera in the mail yesterday. It's a Burke & James with an 11x14 film back, 8×10 film reducer back, 11×14 wet plate back with inserts for 11×14, 8×10, and 5×7. I am also getting the lens for it, an 18" f/4 Verito next week at some point.
I'm really excited about finally being able to shoot wet plates. I'll have to order the chemicals and get some trophy aluminum to start making ferrotypes. Eventually, I'll make glass negatives, but for now, I want to focus on ferrotypes.
I'll post my first results once I have them. With any luck, I will have them done within two weeks or so; it all depends on how long it takes for everything to get here.

I'm also looking for different ways to frame the ferrotypes and ambrotypes. Right now, I am looking into custom made cases as opposed to frames.
