Well, I've finally decided to take the plunge and make my own alt. process darkroom at my apartment. I specify "alt. process" darkroom, because I won't be doing traditional silver gelatin prints in it, as I am not buying an enlarger. Even though they can be had for a song on ebay, I have no room for one in my teeny, tiny bathroom that I am using for the darkroom. I also don't really need one, as I can just use MICA's darkrooms for doing bw prints.
Once everything gets here from B&H, which normally only takes a day or two, I'll finally be able to print the first run, 4"x5" tintypes for the Dreamscapes and Fallacies series. For the finished series, I want to do them in 16"x20" format. Right now though, it's not practical.
I have yet to decide how I want to frame the tintypes... although, I suppose I'll cross that bridge when it comes.

Well, my first experiments with Rockland Colloid's tintype kit has been anything but successful... Out of five plates, not one turned out. Maybe I should just try out the traditional dry plate collodion process. Every opinion that I've seen says the traditional method is a lot easier (albeit more labor intensive.) I will post more once I figure out if I want to go this route.
I am almost done with a roll of redscale film that I am shooting in the Black Slim Devil. I was planning on shooting the rest today, but since it's raining out, I think I'll put it off until later. I only have another 14 exposures to make before I send it out to be developed.
